Before I begin this post, I just have to say there was nothing cold about the Saints winning yesterday’s NFL championship. It was a tense, heated game and I’m not even a football fan but this is my hometown team and after all New Orleans has been through, the team, the city, and the people deserve it! Superbowl, here we come…..!<\/p>\n

STRIPED ICEBERGS<\/span><\/span><\/strong>
\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Icebergs in the Antarctic area sometimes have stripes, formed by layers of snow that react to different conditions.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Blue stripes are often created when a crevice in the ice sheet fills up with melt water and freezes so quickly that no bubbles form.<\/strong><\/p>\n

When an iceberg falls into the sea, a layer of salty seawater can freeze to the underside. If this is rich in algae, it can form a green stripe.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Brown, black and yellow lines are caused by sediment, picked up when the ice sheet grinds downhill towards the sea.<\/strong><\/p>\n
