The earthquake in Haiti rocked everyone. It was so tragic and still is because there has not been much relief for this already poor and downtrodden country. The process for recovery<\/a> is so slow. However, when I saw this story about art helping business in Haiti it brought a little bright spot of hope for some progression. The Haitian people are familiar with these brightly painted buses<\/a> and to see them back again signals some sign of recovery with the business of painting buses, as small and as mundane as that seems in comparison to other dire necessities needed. Since Easter is about rebirth, I see a little bit of renewal in this for Haiti.<\/p>\n

Here’s an opportunity worth investigating. The Ford Foundation is offering $100 million in grant money<\/a> for artists to establish new art spaces in culturally diverse communities.<\/p>\n

Two other interesting and resourceful finds 1) Wikipedia saves the creative art process with the SOS (Save Outdoor Sculpture) database<\/a> using The Smithsonian American Art Museum\u2019s research databases<\/a> — the Inventories of American Painting and Sculpture — provide descriptive data, including on over 350,000 art works, done by artists born or working in the USA.) and 2) the Creative Process PDF Database.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n
