Breaking from my backlog of murals to quickly post a list of a few interesting exhibits:<\/p>\n

1) Art Drawings from Cancer Diagnosis by the late Alex Todorovich — Joan Hisaoka Gallery<\/a> on U Street, DC<\/p>\n

–Although, sadly, I never got around to seeing this (just ended on June 19), I thought it was a wonderful take on remaining positive while in the state of deep reflective thinking when we are dealt with such circumstances.<\/a><\/p>\n

— For some reason her work reminds me of Marga Hayes Ingram<\/a> with it’s symbolism.<\/p>\n

–This one I want to see since I try to interject symbols in artwork whenever I can. She did it with subtle and sometimes blantant fashion statements. Bravo for that.<\/p>\n

Another great source for exhibits<\/a> and things to do in general is the Washington Post’s Going Out Guide<\/a> with the Going Out Gurus.<\/p>\n

3) Jeff Huntington’s<\/a> show Plaques and Tangles<\/em> at the Reyes & Davis Gallery<\/a>, DC through July 10th.<\/p>\n

–There is something mesmerizing about his work. Not only does he have master painterly skills but one of my goals as a child (@ 10 or so) was to be able to realistically paint movement, unlike Duchamps’ Nude Descending a Staircase<\/em>, here…..I wonder if I kept that list of artistic goals? This is a very cool website regarding Duchamp<\/a> that I serendipitously\u00a0 found in this search.<\/p>\n
