There is an art to designing an antenna — when it must function as well as be aesthetically appealing. Unfortunately, Apple’s design team neglected the function over form. Apparently, the antenna of the new iPhone 4, which has sold over 1.7 million units, has problems with reception due to the antenna design. Because it wraps around the device in order to be unobtrusive, it requires the correct hand hold to make the connection. So, if you’re left handed, sorry.<\/p>\n

I love my iPod Touch but I’ve been holding out for so long for Apple to get the many kinks out of their iPhones and this antenna problem is just one of them. I’ve spoken with numerous people where the conversation just drops due to their bad reception with their iPhone. My sister, who is also my business partner said in exasperation, “I hate this phone!” Well, I did too at the time because it took three recalls to finish the thought. Rumor has it that it’s a widely known secret that it’s not only Apple’s insufficient software that is causing the reception problems but it is actually AT&T, Apple’s exclusive network provider. And, until Apple opens up competition to Verizon and others with better service, I won’t be buying this smart phone, which I could really use right now. Instead, I’m stuck waiting.<\/p>\n
