His work has been compared to a modern day <a title=\"Brancusi Wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Constantin_Br%C3%A2ncu%C5%9Fi\" target=\"_blank\">Brancusi<\/a> and even <a title=\"Previous Post re I.M. Pei\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ashley-spencer.com\/ArtIsEverywhere\/?p=127\" target=\"_blank\">I.M. Pei&#8217;s<\/a> architectural abstraction &#8212; therein the similarities with China&#8217;s National Stadium perhaps but in sculptural form.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ashley-spencer.com\/ArtIsEverywhere\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2008\/06\/martinpuryear.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-253\" title=\"Martin Puryear\\'s Sculpture \\\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ashley-spencer.com\/ArtIsEverywhere\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2008\/06\/martinpuryear.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"170\" height=\"183\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ashley-spencer.com\/ArtIsEverywhere\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2008\/06\/finch11-1-07-3s.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-254\" title=\"Martin Puryear\\'s \\\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ashley-spencer.com\/ArtIsEverywhere\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2008\/06\/finch11-1-07-3s.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">However, it&#8217;s his &#8220;Ladder to Booker T&#8221; featured here above the Hermes Statue in the Rotunda of the National Gallery of Art&#8217;s West Wing that gets prominent attention.
