Regardless of the political debate, I was taken aback by the official conceptual designs on <a title=\"Park51 website\" href=\"http:\/\/blog.park51.org\/?p=143\" target=\"_blank\">Park51&#8217;s website<\/a>, which I hadn&#8217;t seen until recently, described here by<a title=\"A Reflection of Enlightenment in NY Islamic Center's Design\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2010\/10\/06\/AR2010100602423.html\" target=\"_blank\"> Philip Kennicott as an architectural review<\/a> in <em>The Washington Post<\/em>. This is a little frightening, if they take any heat for their involvement&#8230;and as I delved into this further, <a title=\"Architect position wanted - PI Bill Warner\" href=\"http:\/\/pibillwarner.wordpress.com\/2010\/10\/01\/exclusive-soma-architects-help-wanted-ground-zero-mosque-architect-apply-to-evicted-offices-of-sharif-el-gamal-soho-properties-job-posted-9112010\/\" target=\"_blank\">there may be a mystery here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Their website is weirdly under construction but also nerve-wracking with how they have displayed the work that they have done &#8212; a navigational nightmare but still worth seeing &#8212; if you can get those pictures to stay still long enough.<\/p>\n<p>Even with all of this, I can appreciate good design and I really like the concepts for this building. Where it&#8217;s supposedly going to be built is a whole other matter entirely. Here it is, just stunning at night.
