Yes, at lease for the US Military, which recently canceled a $600,000 proposal to produce public art for a military bus tunnel in Washington, DC<\/a>. Granted, this makes sense to me because commissioned art has always been a luxury item and this being the people’s money, it doesn’t seem the most practical to spend it this way — at least now. Let the economy get better first. Now, if this was a private endeavor that was being scrapped, I’d be more than miffed if I was the artist. Afterall, promises are promises and should be kept when private monies and deals are arranged. Hopefully there would be a contract.<\/p>\n

In light of this, you may still want to see a mural on this Mural Monday<\/a> so here’s a great time lapse of three murals being painted in the Blue Room Theatre by David Selkirk<\/a> that I’ve been meaning to post. I only wish I could paint something so fast \ud83d\ude09 He did three murals in three nights<\/a> — some of many that he painted for the Blue Room Theatre.
