{"id":457,"date":"2008-11-05T09:44:24","date_gmt":"2008-11-05T14:44:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ashley-spencer.com\/ArtIsEverywhere\/?p=457"},"modified":"2015-12-27T21:52:16","modified_gmt":"2015-12-28T02:52:16","slug":"master-marbelizer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ashley-spencer.com\/ArtIsEverywhere\/2008\/11\/master-marbelizer\/","title":{"rendered":"Master Marbelizer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am very admiring of true master, decorative painters and even more so when they have an association with the National Gallery of Art, my favorite museum, old stopping ground and where I used to work.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Glen Perry--Studio interview by John Pancacke\/Washington Post\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-srv\/artsandliving\/style\/studio\/110208.html\" target=\"_blank\">Glen Perry<\/a> was interviewed recently by John Pancake of the <em>Washington Post<\/em>. He was asked about his ability to render faux marble for the <a title=\"Previous post on Pompeii &amp; October Exhibits\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ashley-spencer.com\/ArtIsEverywhere\/?p=443\" target=\"_blank\">Pompeii exhibit<\/a>. It&#8217;s an enlightening article into his creative process. I can&#8217;t wait to see his work in person. Funny, I am so enthusiastic about these major art exhibits but once there I get just as enthralled in the exhibition design and production. (Well, it was the field I was heading toward before life took over&#8230;) The Venetian plaster wall in the Spy Museum, for instance, stops me in my tracks and I always get distracted by its beauty.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ashley-spencer.com\/ArtIsEverywhere\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2008\/11\/ph2008103101924.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-460\" title=\"Glen Perry at work. (I&#8217;m my work&#8217;s worst critic.) They weren&#8217;t easy and it took a lot of work, particularly working in the round. I got a lot of up-and-down-ladder exercise that week. It was a wonderful exhibit, both in content and exhibition design.
