The largest 3-D street mural was entered into the Guinness Book of World Records<\/em> this past November. It’s by artists 3D Joe & Max. It measures 9,106 square feet. Evidently over 300,000 others have tried to break this record, according to the Huffington Post<\/a>. This mural below uses anamorphic perspective<\/a> — painted in a purposeful distorted, “slanted” way that offers a 3D optical illusion when viewed from a certain vantage point.<\/p>\n

Watching the video <\/a>gives you some indication of the “epic” effort it took to achieve the record for the largest and the longest mural in the world — and Reebok \/ CrossFit exercise area too boot. Kudos!<\/p>\n

There are many artists that create their artwork in an anamorphic way. Julian Beever<\/a> is one who I’ve written about here before. Kurt Werner<\/a> is another talented artist and architect, who really appreciates the classical form in his work.<\/p>\n
