Until then, here are some remarkable art projects that are &#8220;green&#8221; &#8212; they were created from recyclable materials.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Many types of art can be created from recyclables. What&#8217;s one man&#8217;s trash is another one&#8217;s treasure is an artistic philosophy. It&#8217;s hard to believe but this portrait of Van Gogh, on the side of The Red Brick Gallery in Martinsburg, W. VA, was created with bottle top lids through the <a title=\"Put a Lid on It Project\" href=\"http:\/\/putalidonitproject.wordpress.com\/2009\/03\/07\/van-gogh-on-king-street\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Put a Lid on It Projec<\/em>t<\/a>, designed by David F. Heatwole<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ashley-spencer.com\/ArtIsEverywhere\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2009\/03\/final-piece.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-683\" title=\"Van Gogh Portrait from Put a Lid on It Project by David F. I have to really commend them for doing such a great job as a collaborative effort.<\/p>\n<p>Here are more examples of recyclable art. This is an inspiring article about the Nigerian artist <a title=\"El Antasui, by Alexi Worth, New York Times Magazine\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/indexes\/2009\/02\/22\/style\/t\/index.html#pageName=22nigeria\" target=\"_blank\">El Anatsui<\/a> that ran in the New York Times Magazine. Anatsui makes truly unique artwork with garbage &#8212; others&#8217; cast off trash. He collects bottles, tin cans, etc and makes these incredibly, fluid, shimmering sculptures.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ashley-spencer.com\/ArtIsEverywhere\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2009\/03\/picture-21.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-684\" title=\"El Anatsui, Bleeding Takar II (2207) Aluminum and copper wire. Of all the many comments that we received at the home show, this was the most noted &#8212; that our decorative coverings were reusable and convenient to use, not permanent, like traditional wallpaper. In fact, anyone who had used traditional wallpaper was dead set against ever using it again.
