Surfside Doodle Fest

When I saw this video, I thought perfect to post if you’re missing the summer already and if you like a massive doodle fest.

This reminds me of when I was a child and I had huge posters with contour images, printed just black on white, all for adding your own doodles and filling in with color. I spent full days and hours upon hours just planting myself on the floor with markers and doodling away. Looking back, my parents must have thought this is the perfect kid, self-entertaining and quiet (that was quickly dispelled in the teenage years, however), or there is something seriously abnormal here. Turns out I think I was just destined to go the artist route.

Although I get it, I like this mural, except for the over abundance of skeletons and skulls. Also, I think the video is well done showing how the community contributes to the mural’s creation. I like the Dead Confederate, so this is a music post as well. Here’s their website: http://www.myspace.com/deadconfederate

I'm an artist, wife and mother of two boys. I started my illustration business, The Occasional Palette over 35 years ago, when my oldest son was an infant. Once my children were in school, I began painting decorative, faux finishes and murals through my second business, Casart, now over 30 years old. My third business, Casart Coverings, is a springboard from my second.
