    Watering Hole

    I spent Mother's Day writing blog posts, which was relaxing for me. In the process I was able to capture so much activity in my garden. My fountain must be the neighborhood water cooler or watering hole for these backyard birds and an abundance of wildlife. It's not uncommon that there are three or four birds taking dips, drinking and just hanging out. One robin just squats and sits for long periods of time like he's at the pool or more realistically in an outdoor bidet just biding his time observing his surroundings. It's rather funny to see.     Trick Photography?

    These photos seem appropriate after the last post regarding trompe l’oeil painting. These might be what you could call, trompe l’oeil trick photography. These came to me in an email that is circulating so unfortunately, I do not have photo credits except for Interesno.dn.ua. (Russia I think.) Most express a good sense of humor — especially for the end of a hard business week.     Treme

    It’s the neighborhood near The French Quarter in New Orleans, where my great ancestors used to live, and it’s also now a TV show. HBO has just introduced Treme for its Sunday night line up. I’ve been looking forward to seeing it and tuned into the premier. Here’s a little background about the Treme area first, as well as a map. I was happy to read Hank Stuever’s review in the Washington Post. Sounds like he survived going to college in New Orleans and left with an appreciation for the city but not fully accounted for as this new show demonstrates.  Just like New Orleans, the show is gritty but…
