    TV surprise

    I wasn’t going to even write this post because it didn’t seem significant–until I saw another interesting TV surprise. I was watching the last bit of the Academy Awards (it went on longer than I thought, as usual) and I was taken with the new American Express Ad featuring Diane Von Furstenberg. Although she’s not necessarily one of my favorite fashion designers, I was intrigued with the content of the 30 second spot. It was all about what I’m discussing here–the process of creating art.     Stamps

    In order to update my client files, I’ve recently sent out a contact mailer with a hard copy of my January Casart eNewsletter to request a review of current information as well as email addresses. When I went to the post office to get stamps, they were out of the regular flag rolls, which I like to get out of convenience sake. Luckily, they had the Tiffany, stained-glass mural stamp, which not only coordinated with the theme but with the colors of the newsletter/mailer.     Magazine Inspiration

    I have a good excuse to read interior design magazines. They are where I get a lot of inspiration for decorating, design, color, decorative painting, murals and a whole host of other ideas. Here are just a few that I use. My favorites are Veranda, Southern Accents and House and Garden, which sadly has ceased publication. I often clip pages from these and file in various idea books that I show clients. This helps inspire them too and solidify concepts for projects.
