This is an interesting story about Alexa Meade, a fairly new artist on the scene, who is gaining recognition quickly and was profiled recently in an article, “Flesh Perspective…” by Dan Zak for The Washington Post. What is uncommon in her work is that her canvas is the human body. That is, she paints directly on human subjects, who sit in a setting that also may be painted to give the living subject and space a painterly, almost other-wordly perspective.
