Personalizing Your Space
I was immediately drawn by the title of this article, Home is Where the Art Is: Personal Connections are Vital in Your Living Space by Katherine Salant in the Washington Post. She states what we all know but are sometimes at a loss to explain, that to personalize your space is innate, human nature. She explains with real credibility why this is. Certain things remain fundamental about decorating your personal space: having a connection to the past, things that are handmade and certain shapes and forms withstand the test of time. I imagine this is why family heirlooms become so important. Heck, I’m heading to Kentucky in June, not only for my Aunt’s memorial but to pick up my father’s boyhood bike…. She quotes a psychiatrist who says that adding personal decor to a space lends security and personal connections make it “home.” I liked these quotes, “Visual art taps into the most ancient of experience”….and “Great art stops you from thinking…and forces you to be in the moment.”
I’d like to think with casart coverings that we can help create this personal decor for folks. They can take an interactive part in customizing colors of their choosing and extracting elements from murals that can personalized for the space. We’ll add to this offering soon as I’m busily painting new designs that will be unveiled as soon as I can get them scanned and in the conversion process from artwork to print to web.
