I’m just now getting a chance to post pictures from my husband’s trip to Copenhagen for the COP15 conference. You’ll see from many of them, except for the inside of the Global Warming Climate Conference, how bitter cold it was outside.
His hotel was right near Tivoli, the famous amusement park and gardens:
Evidently, eating hot nuts, often found on street stands, is the thing to do in Denmark.
Luckily he was able to take an excursion to Helsinger, which is where Kronborg castle also known as Hamlet’s castle, Elsinor, is located.
I like how dramatic yet sparsely decorated the interiors are.
Peter says they are really into Christmas in Denmark and do enjoy decorating for the occasion, but they keep it beautifully simple. A Royal Crest on a family pew in the chapel seems a little out of sync, however, with the austere nature of the rest of the interior decor.
Sweden is right across the water and reachable by a bridge. These canons happen to face in that direction.
I like the stillness of these photos the best from different perspectives.
Unfortunately, since this was a working trip, he wasn’t able to meet my Danish cousins….Hopefully one day if we ever make it back, maybe when it’s not so cold.
