The Good Life

Feeling a little nostalgic when I ran across this, I think this is a nice compilation of classic entertainment scenes to the music, The Good Life by Tony Bennett but also sung by Frank Sinatra. However I don’t think it is either of these singing this version.

If you want a more bluesy, modern version to Kick-Start Your Weekend I’d go with Love and Happiness, originally by Al Green but sung here by Marc Broussard.

Home, is my favorite of his songs. He’s an incredibly soulful singer and really kicks it out toward the end of this.

I'm an artist, wife and mother of two boys. I started my illustration business, The Occasional Palette over 35 years ago, when my oldest son was an infant. Once my children were in school, I began painting decorative, faux finishes and murals through my second business, Casart, now over 30 years old. My third business, Casart Coverings, is a springboard from my second. This is a fabulous blog and I really enjoyed reading it! My Mom forwarded it to me so I could see the articles about the Saints and Who Dat, but I loved all the entries.

you mention that you don’t think it’s Frank Sinatra singing the title tune. You are correct. The singer is Sammy Davis Jr., whom you see at the very beginning and ending of the video clip. It was great to hear him again providing such a fine rendition of this lovely song.

Anyway I thought you might like to know who the singer was, so I”m writing to let you know it’s Sammy Davis Jr.

    Thanks!

Christine, Thanks so much for commenting and letting me know who the correct singer was of the original The Good Life song. I remember more of Sammy Davis, Jr’s dancing than I do his singing, so that’s the kind of information that I really appreciate knowing.
