Rainbow Wood
When I saw this picture of striped, rainbow-colored, wooden bowls in my April issue of House Beautiful magazine, I was immediately reminded that I have a similarly designed coffee spoon that I use everyday, thanks to Aunt Sue. I never really thought of it artistically but its design is just that and a woodcraft artisan must have made it. Again, art and design, in this case functional art, combined. Citronelle & Food Art
Did I mention that my husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary once at Citronelle? Yes, but I never posted this when we had our special Leap Year celebration, which happens every four years in addition to our regular anniversary. We were married the French way — civil service (on Leap Year) with a Church Blessing* later (in April). How do you celebrate your 21 year old returning home for a few days for spring break? Well after going out to dinner at The Tasting Room, our neighborhood favorite, Piers, Peter and I (all adults) enjoyed the Disney animated movie, Up by Pixar. We loved it. You’re never too old to watch a movie like this. It was funny, with clever wit, had an interesting story line with a masterful unspoken time line in the beginning and the animation is phenomenal. “Even better than a non animated movie,” Piers noted, probably because we were watching it in HD, which I have to say, makes all the difference.
