    V is for Visitors

    “Welcome to the war…It’s us Vs them,” is the tagline in the show V on ABC. I’ve been watching this show since it first aired late last year and I can’t help but think it has parallel meaning. V stands for Visitors — alien visitors that come to earth “in peace” and they happen to look just like normal but beautiful people. The aliens have a convincing PR plan. The people on earth are suspicious and fearful at first but the Visitors act so calm, forthcoming and gracious that they soon earn the people’s trust. They even feign to help humans by sharing some of their technology with them, like…

    I’ve had a rare and exciting opportunity recently to “meet” a few, very talented artists in Milwaukee of whom our paths may have not crossed otherwise. I met these artists through Internet searches and would like to profile them in this space this week. Our conversations and email correspondence have been so open, friendly and forthcoming that I feel like we may know each other already; however, I do hope I get a chance to meet them someday in person.     How do you celebrate your 21 year old returning home for a few days for spring break? Well after going out to dinner at The Tasting Room, our neighborhood favorite, Piers, Peter and I (all adults) enjoyed the Disney animated movie, Up by Pixar. We loved it. You’re never too old to watch a movie like this. It was funny, with clever wit, had an interesting story line with a masterful unspoken time line in the beginning and the animation is phenomenal. “Even better than a non animated movie,” Piers noted, probably because we were watching it in HD, which I have to say, makes all the difference.
