    Here’s a list of September into fall exhibits. As I’m getting down to the wire on introducing my new product line, I hope I’ll have time to visit most of them. They bring a lot of inspiration. 1) Last chance — Blue at the Textile Museum through September 18th. 2) The Alexandria Festival of the Arts is September 13 – 14. The festival really does look like this photo that I found at Alexandria Daily Photo, where Marie McC has captured a year’s worth of pictures in a video that accurately portrays Alexandria, VA and Old Town.     Aspen & Many Sides of Nature

    It’s Labor Day, why do any work? My husband went to Aspen, CO recently and was able to get some hiking time in between conferences. Here are some pictures he took. Nature’s beauty abounds but so does the mural map juxtaposed against the mountainous backdrop. While these photos make me want to be there and are certainly inspirational for sketching, I am worried and my mind is focused on Hurricane Gustav. I’m having eerie flashbacks from three years ago — just a few days past Hurricane Katrina. Fortunately, my mother and brother and his wife have evacuated early this time.     As I get creative inspiration from outside sources, like the Design House, I thought this blog post by Sean Hodge of “12 Ways to Tap into and Endless Well of Creativity” gave really useful advice for any type of artist.
