Shepard Fairey’s Creative Process
I’ve been following Shepard Fairey’s copyright battle since I last posted and I think it was good to set a precedent, as it protects artists, including photographer’s work from being used without credit. I was unaware however about how involved his creative process is and this video from DoobeyBrain blog shows the details he uses to create his artwork. I thought this was very revealing to see and gave me a better appreciation for his work. Since the music is “Everybody’s Down” by No Age, this will help Kick Start your Weekend. Ted Kennedy
I am not a real fan of Ted Kennedy, as I do not agree with a lot of his politics but I was deeply moved by parts of his funeral service this past Saturday. I had it on in the background as I caught up reading six or so newspapers. I could no longer read when I heard Susan Graham sing Ave Maria. That song always gets me. Stop Making Sense
Yeah, I know this is an old song by The Talking Heads, but I just have to add a little revelation that I just discovered while on my recent trip to Rhode Island. I was talking with one of my digital pre-press gurus, Phil, who went to school at RISD, where David Bryne (lead singer of The Talking Heads also went to school), about things to do in Rhode Island. We come up here every year to spend time with my in-laws, so for more than 20 years, I thought I knew almost everything there might be to do here, especially in this small state.
