    Stamps

    In order to update my client files, I’ve recently sent out a contact mailer with a hard copy of my January Casart eNewsletter to request a review of current information as well as email addresses. When I went to the post office to get stamps, they were out of the regular flag rolls, which I like to get out of convenience sake. Luckily, they had the Tiffany, stained-glass mural stamp, which not only coordinated with the theme but with the colors of the newsletter/mailer.     Magazine Inspiration

    I have a good excuse to read interior design magazines. They are where I get a lot of inspiration for decorating, design, color, decorative painting, murals and a whole host of other ideas. Here are just a few that I use. My favorites are Veranda, Southern Accents and House and Garden, which sadly has ceased publication. I often clip pages from these and file in various idea books that I show clients. This helps inspire them too and solidify concepts for projects.

    Old Artwork

    This is an old painting I did of my yard in New Orleans. Since I live in a townhouse now with no side light, it’s my version of a kitchen window, placed over the sink. It brings back fond memories and I’d never want to change it, but it has inspired me to paint another image from my Maine trip this summer and back it to a real salvaged window. I have done several of these portable murals for clients but here is one sample on my website (scroll down to the bottom of the page). Now, I’m inspired to do one for myself so tune in for a future…
