Cabinet and Buffet Glazing
Before: Kitchen Island cabinetry and dining room buffet appeared too high contrast in comparison to the rest of the finishes and room furnishings. The client wanted her kitchen island cabinetry to blend in better with the granite countertop and make a smooth transition. Also, the dining room buffet seemed stark white in comparison to the rest of the room. Glazing would create a more harmonious hue.

After: Both the kitchen island and the buffet were glazed in the same custom, raw-umber glaze, leaving a warm visual transition on the eyes and a smooth, aged and refined finish on the wood surfaces.

This gorgeous dining room, designed by Rob Brown of Brown Davis Interiors, Inc., has a beautiful, warm glow. The glazed piece looks different than the kitchen cabinets, all because of the light in the room.
This is why it is so important to pick colors on site. The lighting can greatly affect the outcome.
Even when viewed from a different angle, the kitchen cabinets can appear divergent from the above after picture.
