Casart coverings booth
We exhibited at the New Orleans Home & Garden Show. It was our first trade show and I think successful. We learned a lot about booth preparation and did a lot of networking. We were exhausted from start to finish. It was four full days from March 26 – 29. We were glad to have been mentioned in the Times Picayune, which brought many visitors to our booth. We also had three products featured in the hot lounge, as part of “the coolest products.” We displayed a framed, faux-padded, lime harlequin that was customized with silver-stamped butterflies behind the bar, a new photographic, “carnation suspended” casart and a reduced version of the © Woodland Stream stair mural. We received a lot of positive feedback. Here are some pictures of our booth transformation and we will post a video on YouTube soon. My brother and sister-in-law got right in there to help us out. We really couldn’t have done it in a timely fashion without their help. We had to come up with “faux” walls that were affordable and practical for largescale display and demo usage. We used black and white Insight™ boards attached to flats that were rented from the Opera Association. The black version, however, had more of a paper outerlay. I had to treat the surfaces last minute with two coats clear, semigloss polycrylic. This worked. The white version was actually a shiny vinyl substrate, unbeknownst to us until after installation, making it difficult to install and remove our largescale, reused, lime colorwash casart, but it all worked. We just couldn’t change this version out daily as we had hoped.
Finally, our booth is ready. My childhood friend, Shauna, who is a fashion designer, helped out.
