Jeffersonian Pavilion

I learned a little about one of my son’s school this weekend in the Real Estate section of the Washington Post when one of the Jeffersonian Pavilions on the main campus of University of Virginia was featured.

Larry Sabato lives in this stately pavilion and was awarded these living quarters due to his academic tenure. He is the Robert Kent Gooch Professor of Politics and director of the university’s Center for Politics. It’s a prestigious location and it was interesting to learn how the residential honor comes and goes to those living in this “Academical Village.” I’ve long been impressed by the grand architecture at UVA. Although it’s historically preserved, It’s nice to know that it’s being being appreciated and used everyday.

Meanwhile my son has adequate living quarters that he appreciates in his fraternity house.

I'm an artist, wife and mother of two boys. I started my illustration business, The Occasional Palette over 35 years ago, when my oldest son was an infant. Once my children were in school, I began painting decorative, faux finishes and murals through my second business, Casart, now over 30 years old. My third business, Casart Coverings, is a springboard from my second.
