Making a Grand Entrance
I've been wanting to post this photo of Olafur Eliasson's latest work and although I've been enjoying it, it's finally time to move it from my desktop to this space. Take Your Time is meant to literally bring the viewer or as Eliasson says, "the user," into the creative, interactive experience. It was on view at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney Australia. The premise of Eliasson's work is to involve the user — beyond just gaining admiration for the piece and the artist' ability — but that goes without saying here.
Ending this post this week with a wonderful unrelated picture that I saw in the newspaper. Just goes to show you should always have a camera on you — never know when the once in a lifetime shot will present itself. Is this a dancing bear with a boy, or a big fearful animal so close to a potential, innocent victim, or could it be simply as the caption reads, a boy enjoying a bear swimming at the new Illinois zoo installation? I think it could be all of these things.
This reminds me of the wonderful illustrations by Jan Brett in Berlioz the Bear, among others that I used to read to my kids.
And this train of thought brought me to Dancing Days by Led Zeppelin to Kick-start the weekend (since I was so frazzled last Friday that I didn't post one.) One of my favorite bands and songs but unbelievable hard to find an original video except for Stone Temple Pilots remake (although not bad, I'm a purist). Here's one with at least photos of the band:
