    Longest Mural in DC

    Graffiti art usually isn’t my thing, but seeing this mural that is being painted in DC helped open my eyes to some real talent. Firstly, spray paint is a hard medium to control. I have used it for a bunch of my decorative painting projects. It takes skill to get this kind of refinement in some sections of this mural. Secondly, these artists are helping to revitalize a rather downtrodden area. Dan Zach describes the five artists Collective Vision in his article, Let’s Spray.     I’m zooming to get home from traveling over 651 miles + and back. I have a lot of work to do before a September presentation and this necessary travel took a big chunk away from my time. It’s always reinvigorating, however, to be back in Sewanee, visit with friends and reap in the beauty of the place. It’s just the long drive that kills me to get there and back.     Hydropolis

    Since I’m cutting my beach trip short and still longing for a little extra time, I thought I’d post about a modern day Atlantis. I recently read about the world’s first underwater hotel, Hydropolis on Lost at E Minor blog. It is due to open to the public later this year in 2009, in Dubai, of course. While there, check out the post about Kieron Williamson, the six year old prodigy. His paintings show real talent.
