There is a retrospective art exhibit of international acclaim called Prospect.1 taking place in New Orleans through January 18, 2009. Dan Cameron a NY based curator was inspired to create the exhibit after Hurricane Katrina. There are over 80 artists exhibiting in areas scattered throughout the city but mostly in the warehouse district. There are also satellite exhibits. It is considered the largest international art biennial in the United States. The Importance of Others
Happy Thanksgiving! As this holiday seems to be here so quickly this year, I am reminded of the importance of others and how we should be grateful for their existence and how they have affected our lives. As I mentioned in a recent post that there is an art to living life well, there is also and art in being able to appreciate others and the simple blessings that make our lives memorable. Finally found it
I finally found the information regarding one of the many artists at the National Harbor. Cheryl Foster created the cut glass mural panels, Maryland’s Bounty, along the steps that lead down to the Awakening sculpture. This is a very inspirational video that I found on Roadtrip Nation: Discovering Your Path in Life/webpage. Cheryl Foster describes her inspiration as an artist and how she started out on a different route. I really like her work and find her incredibly talented.
