Vegetable Masterpiece
Here’s another masterpiece, one of Vincent Van Gogh’s portraits, recreated, this time with vegetables by Chinese artist Ju Duoqi. This image is made up of leeks and celery, I believe, but it could have a little squash and olives too.
Aluminum Cans
Consumerism isn’t such a bad thing when art can be produced. Just off the environmental conference theme, here’s a new take on another catchy green idea — recycling. Chris Jordan has reconstructed Seurat’s famous painting, A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, solely using aluminum cans. Wow, this must have taken some patience. Now I wonder where this detail is located in the larger image? BTW, he’s also taken photos in New Orleans, in the wake of Katrina–uncanny connection.
Ice, Cold and Blue — Blue
Here’s a pretty blue post. This installation/sculpture called Together by Susan Meyer is based on enclosures, architecture, environments and the social structures in which we live. It reminds me of a beautiful contemporary chandelier — one I’d like to have in my home someday. Well, it’s been a week since my husband has been in Poland, attending a Global Warming Conference, therein last post… Why do they pick bitter cold places for these things, I don’t know…doesn’t support the philosophy…Anyway, I’m glad he’s returning and now I won’t be so blue. Although, blue is my favorite color. Actually, I’ve been able to get a lot and nothing done. Nothing done…
