Historic Decor for the Season
I was impressed with what the designers created for the diplomacy rooms at the historic Blair House. Six life style, “shelter” magazines were called on for their help to design holiday themes for these estate rooms and then execute the decoration in a very short time span. Despite this being very tough times for the Design Industry, they pulled out all the stops. Martha Stewart, among others was there, snapping her own pictures, probably for her blog. A reception was then hosted by the State Department for government employees serving in dangerous locations oversees. Here are some pictures of the lovely outcomes. Waterfall Art
I have posted about Olafur Eliasson before but had this song about waterfalls in my head (below) so wanted to link to it and tie in with my previous post on Falling Water. The New Your City Waterfalls are something to see if were in New York City this fall. The exhibition ended however on October 13th. I would have loved to have seen the height on this one in person. Drawing on Tools for Art vs Design
Although computer technology has completely transformed aspects of my business, with digital manipulation of hand painted artwork and designs, I am cognizant that the roots of what I create falls to creativity and hand applied method of drawing and painting. Drawing to me is fundamental to artistic expression.
