Le Petit Theatre & Setting up

Well, I’m back home in New Orleans, so how appropriate to find some news from here to write about, however unfortunate. I learned that Le Petite Theatre has had to lay off many of their workers. My grandmother used to take me here when I was a little girl. It’s where I saw my first production of Hans Christian Anderson’s, The Little Mermaid. Marilyn

I attended my sister’s baby shower yesterday at the M Street Bar and Grill in the St. Gregory Hotel. This “Forever Marilyn” Monroe statue by J. Seward Johnson greets you as you walk in the door. I love how the dress is strategically draped as to not reveal anything you shouldn’t see at eye level — just like the actual still photo from the 1954 movie, The Seven Year Itch. I’ve always liked Johnson’s work, particularly The Awakening.
