Floodwater Walls
I had posted on some similar murals near Roeblings Bridge in Madison County, KY but hadn’t seen these Jeffersonville Floodwater wall murals. They could be the same? Who knew floodwater walls could be so beautiful, as these are in Louisville, KY, and as seen on Broken Sidewalk: These are all beautifully painted. The detail is exceptional and exquisite. Here’s another view of the Roeblings Bridge Murals from Midwest Guest. My guess is they are different murals (see arches) and different locations but painted by the same mural company. Clarifications are welcome.
Target’s Creativity
I’ve long been a fan of Target’s advertisements. I think they are smart, clever and out of the box. When I saw this one near Times Square while in New York last week, I thought the same. This ad seems to capitalize on the “street art,” graffiti-style craze in advertising. Although I don’t particularly like this style of art, I appreciate how Target has used the stylistic design to make their logo visually stand out from the other graphics. In fact their advertising stands out among other chains and brands them as being innovative. Others have tried to copy their creative style because it is so cool and different but…
Geometric Spheres
I think David Trubridge’s designs of spheres, lighting fixtures and furniture are very cool. They are geometrically modern and functional sculptures that refer to themes of nature. I’ve seen his work in Design Within Reach but ran across this in depth article regarding his creative process on Seeds and Fruit blog, which I found very informative. I see a raindrop in this one: I could use this Dondola rocking lounger this week, but there is no time to rest, unfortunately. I’m back on site work today. This float looks so relaxing: I just happened to write about other geometric designs on Slipcovers for Your Walls.
