Recyclable Art
After just finishing exhibiting at the New Orleans Home and Garden Show on Sunday and still being down South, I didn’t post Friday and I’m late posting today but will follow up later this week with some interesting Art Is Everywhere photos from the show. Women in Art
This is a great video that’s been circulating the Internet for some time, by Philip Scott, but I’d like to post it here for inspiration: I love how this video progresses through Art History, which looks like Byzantine to Post Modern periods. I only wish there was a documentation/catalog of all the artists and artwork. Most are recognizable and familiar but some are not. I think its creation is artistic in itself. Joseph Cornell
Collecting things reminds me of Joseph Cornell (1903–1972). An artist known in the 1930’s for assembling his many collections into miniature and large scale dioramas, which were like mini sculptures. I really like his work and saw the Smithsonian’s exhibit, Navigating the Imagination dedicated to him in February 2007.
