Balloons
These modern day “art” balloons seemed appropriate to post for a Friday. I really liked this one of Van Gogh and the castle. Pretty cool. Since these were emailed to me, I’m not sure of the web source but it may be from this site: http://www.uphaa.com/blog/index.php/air-balloon/. Here’s an update to my previous post on Coney Island. Seems like the Smithsonian has acquired a piece of its history with the Star from Astroland — another fun up-in-the-air thing. Here’s a blast from the past to Kick Start the weekend — Up, Up and Away by the 5th Dimension:
Bus Stops
The architectural design in the last post reminds me of these unusual bus stops as seen on Toxel.com: Now this would be the kind of bus stop I would like. I’d rather be moving than waiting. Musical Art Words
I really like this typographical portrait of Thom York by Steve Yee. Good thing my son, who we’re on the long road trip to pick up this weekend, doesn’t read this blog. I think this would make a perfect birthday present. Now, the quest is to find it.
