The Longest Proposed Mural
Michael Dingler of NoLA Rising is proposing to paint the flood wall along the 9th ward with a mural. If accepted it will be the longest mural in the world. This would not be a graffiti-style mural but wouldn’t guarantee against being tagged. Nothing is for that matter. Although, having painted public murals, Golden makes a top coat, anti-graffiti sealant (MSA) that protects the mural with an isolation coat. If it is tagged, the top coat can be removed without damaging the mural below the isolation coat. I’ve used this as an extra protective measure, just in case. The Hand
The hand is versatile instrument not only for gesture, waiving goodbye for instance but also for artistic element. I was surprised to find these in my Bon Apetit magazine, which I acquired after Domino went defunct. Great magazine, by the way. We’ve already made Thai Seafood Chowder and it was excellent. I’m wondering if these hands were painted by Guido Daniele. I first found his incredible painted hand artwork on Lost at E Minor. We had to say goodbye to our marketing folks, which has been a long time coming but a necessary and stressful business decision. Time to wave goodbye, wish everyone well and move forward. Urban Design Elegance & Science of Light
The Washington DC Design Center’s new Design House has just opened with the theme, Urban Elegance, on view. I hope to get by and see it (April 24 – June 25). It’s usually inspirational and tends to validate decorative ideas that I have been following and or have used. The DC Design House is another interior design exhibition of sorts. A client of mine tells me it is very worthwhile attending (April 18 – May 10) and proceeds benefit the Children’s Medical Center. Another exhibition I hope to see before it closes May 3rd, is the Pride of Place, Duch Cityscapes of the Golden Age. I’ve been so busy with…
