9/11 Pentagon Memorial
Life is hard. I know that’s an understatement, particularly for those who have suffered loss. This is why I am always amazed at people’s resilience to make something beautiful from some sense of destruction, turning their grief into hope. The Pentagon Memorial is this very kind of extraordinary art. It is a very moving tribute to those who lost their lives in DC on that horrible September 11th morning in 2001. Creative Process Collective
Following up on the creative connection of the last post, here are some informative blog posts detailing various aspects of the creative process. 1) How to approach one’s goal is described in The Strength’s Way. The difference between the creative thinker and the conventional thinker is that the creative thinking doesn’t usually follow the direct route — they go around conventional paths to ultimately find a way to achieve their goal. Interactive Art
Interactive art can be seen in some of these examples. I appreciate the general philosophy that art is inspired by many things around us and by interacting with daily objects allows us as observers to then participate in artistic creations. In Baltimore’s “Giving Birth to Dreams” Location exhibit that took place in March, 2008, Scion, the car company that partnered with AM Radio to launch the interactive exhibit noted that, “Everything we see around us is inspired by art, but this concept is not always obvious to the masses.
