Roeblings Bridge Murals
Since we’re driving back from Danville, KY this week, this was an appropriate post that I came across on these wonderful murals painted by the Robert Dafford Company on the flood walls next to the Roeblings Suspension Bridge in Covington, KY .
Balloons
These modern day “art” balloons seemed appropriate to post for a Friday. I really liked this one of Van Gogh and the castle. Pretty cool. Since these were emailed to me, I’m not sure of the web source but it may be from this site: http://www.uphaa.com/blog/index.php/air-balloon/. Here’s an update to my previous post on Coney Island. Seems like the Smithsonian has acquired a piece of its history with the Star from Astroland — another fun up-in-the-air thing. Quilling
The zipper dress from the last post recalled quilling. I remember doing this craft when I was a youngster — twirling thin strips of paper around pencils and then fashioning them into an intricate designs. Seen here from Inna’s Creations, I think it’s quite a colorful and fun art form. Plus, these make great kids projects. The quilling concept can make functional art as well seen in Fernando and Humberto Campagna’s chairs:
