    These looks like interesting exhibits at the National Portrait Gallery, Reflections/Refractions: Self Portraiture in the Twentieth Century and at the National Gallery of Art (NGA, as I call it), Artists Caught in the Act and Heaven on Earth. I like this self-portrait below by Julius Brawley and its exquisite detailed rendering in graphite on paper. There is also a self portrait by Chuck Close, a contemporary artist who I really admire.     I am very admiring of true master, decorative painters and even more so when they have an association with the National Gallery of Art, my favorite museum, old stopping ground and where I used to work. Glen Perry was interviewed recently by John Pancake of the Washington Post. He was asked about his ability to render faux marble for the Pompeii exhibit.
