    Christmas Cards

    Lately, there has been a lot of news about how traditional Christmas cards are going by the wayside due to the convenience and affordability of sending them to your address book via email or even Facebook.. We tried to send Christmas cards once, when our kids were wee tots and it just added to the holiday stress, so I’m not a big advocate of sending Christmas cards in general. Of course, we love receiving them and I respond to everyone but just cannot take it on myself.     Ice, Ice Baby & Balloon me

    These are just a few fun and interesting, newsworthy things worth mentioning. The National Harbor is celebrating the holidays with Christmas on the Potomac with Ice, quite literally. Click here to review the details and link to the video of this winter wonderland, made entirely of ice, complete with an ice slide. It was written up in the Washington Post as well. Not as elaborate as other ice sculpture posts that I’ve written about, and although a bit cheesy, it could be fun.     Historic Decor for the Season

    I was impressed with what the designers created for the diplomacy rooms at the historic Blair House. Six life style, “shelter” magazines were called on for their help to design holiday themes for these estate rooms and then execute the decoration in a very short time span. Despite this being very tough times for the Design Industry, they pulled out all the stops. Martha Stewart, among others was there, snapping her own pictures, probably for her blog.
