Waterfall Art
I have posted about Olafur Eliasson before but had this song about waterfalls in my head (below) so wanted to link to it and tie in with my previous post on Falling Water. The New Your City Waterfalls are something to see if were in New York City this fall. The exhibition ended however on October 13th. I would have loved to have seen the height on this one in person. I just missed during my latest trip to NYC. Artichoke Arrangement
Some things only appear to be coincidental when, I believe, they are not. It’s been a year since my good friend’s husband, Nathaniel, has passed away. This happens to be on my mother’s birthday. She happened to write a wonderful blog post on Artichokes last Friday on our Slipcovers for Your Walls blog. Artichokes happened to be some of Nathaniel’s favorite foods. Geometric Spheres
I think David Trubridge’s designs of spheres, lighting fixtures and furniture are very cool. They are geometrically modern and functional sculptures that refer to themes of nature. I’ve seen his work in Design Within Reach but ran across this in depth article regarding his creative process on Seeds and Fruit blog, which I found very informative. I see a raindrop in this one: I could use this Dondola rocking lounger this week, but there is no time to rest, unfortunately. I’m back on site work today.
