Conversations @ Dancing on YouTube
OK, you may have seen the wedding video of the attendants and bride and groom dancing their way down the aisle on YouTube. I thought it was pretty cool too, especially the faux Slow Mo part (which the news clips seem to leave out). What I’m more fascinated by is the viral wave that took over after it was posted (July 19th). The couple was featured on Good Morning America; there was a story about it the Washington Post and they were featured on ABC’s Nightly News that night (July 24th). That’s pretty crazy. GM
I saw the report about General Motors coming out of bankruptcy on the news. I was more taken with the designers and artists creating the new car designs and the creative process for accomplishing this. The news clip showed graphic car designers adding finishing touches to their concepts on the computer and sculptors creating 3-D, small and life size models in clay. Fascinating! What would GM do without these artists? There are a whole series of videos to watch at the GM site, but here’s one specifically showing the designers. Performance Art on the Plinth
A new ongoing performance art project has started for the people of UK called One & Other, where everyday until October 14th participants can submit photos as living portraits that will occupy the vacant Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square in London. If your submission is drawn, you’ll also gain a performance spot on the Plinth. This pedestal has been reserved for statues of kings and generals but it is currently empty — unless you want to fill with your own creation.
