Mother’s Day Tribute
It was a working weekend for me and my husband so I didn’t get to spend Mother’s Day as I would like, plus it’s a bittersweet celebration for me for me to remember from 2 years past — just seems like yesterday. Although, I did get to paint a painting in tribute to my mother. It is after one of the camellias in her New Orleans garden. I think it’s name is Cherries Jubilee — how appropriately Southern. Eco Friendly Furniture
Every now and then, I’m struck by something different when doing an everyday activity. I discovered PIE Studio through one of my Linkedin groups’ discussions, where we were all introducing ourselves. I clicked on the link and was pleasantly taken by surprise. It happened to be Earth Day, so the index to PIE’s (Product Import Export) site was very appropriate and I thought clever, and even humorous. This persuaded me to peruse their site. I was intrigued by what I found. Some of their furniture made from waterhyacynth, rattan, lian, bamboo, synthetic, aluminum, steel and even vinyl got my attention. Pamela Anderson
No, not that one, but I bet Pamela Anderson, the talented abstract artist in Milwaukee, WI, gets that reference all the time. Funny though, I never brought it up when I spoke with her recently. We had a nice conversation and realized that we both had a New Orleans connection. She had lived there a few years back and we both confessed that we missed the food.
