The architectural design in the last post reminds me of these unusual bus stops as seen on Toxel.com: Now this would be the kind of bus stop I would like. I’d rather be moving than waiting. I really like this typographical portrait of Thom York by Steve Yee. Good thing my son, who we’re on the long road trip to pick up this weekend, doesn’t read this blog. I think this would make a perfect birthday present. Now, the quest is to find it. The Longest Proposed Mural
Michael Dingler of NoLA Rising is proposing to paint the flood wall along the 9th ward with a mural. If accepted it will be the longest mural in the world. This would not be a graffiti-style mural but wouldn’t guarantee against being tagged. Nothing is for that matter. Although, having painted public murals, Golden makes a top coat, anti-graffiti sealant (MSA) that protects the mural with an isolation coat. If it is tagged, the top coat can be removed without damaging the mural below the isolation coat. I’ve used this as an extra protective measure, just in case.
