I just received the latest issue of my high school alumni magazine and there is an article mentioning most all of my early art teachers. It’s so nice to see them together getting the recognition they deserve and for me to reflect on how important they were in my life. Blue Wood and Flooring +
A few remaining items to mention from the NOHGS: BluWood, Floors by Michael, Patricia Delaney, Frank Relle and Rebecca Rebouché. I finally had time to check out some more intriguing exhibits at the show and just had to ask the guys at the BluWood booth, “What makes your wood blue?” I explained that I knew most folks would be interested in knowing about the technical capabilities of their treated wood (e.g. impervious to mold, mildew and termites) but being an artist, I was captivated by the color. Their sales rep told me although he couldn’t give away proprietary information for their product, he did say it was a vegetable dye…

Following up from the post on Eddie Ross’ booths at the New Orleans Home & Garden Show (NOHGS), are other interior designer booths. The title of the show was “Design Your Life” and it had an interior design focus. We were lucky that our booth was directly across from the following designer booths. The description for each room is from the NOHGS Guide, supplied by the designers, and in the order in which they were listed. I’ve linked the designers to where they have websites. Although Chet Pourciau was the lead designer, we met designers Deniz Berkol, Britta Levine, and Beth Stringer — all very nice and good booth companions…
