Performance Art on the Plinth
A new ongoing performance art project has started for the people of UK called One & Other, where everyday until October 14th participants can submit photos as living portraits that will occupy the vacant Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square in London. If your submission is drawn, you’ll also gain a performance spot on the Plinth. This pedestal has been reserved for statues of kings and generals but it is currently empty — unless you want to fill with your own creation. Blue Wood and Flooring +
A few remaining items to mention from the NOHGS: BluWood, Floors by Michael, Patricia Delaney, Frank Relle and Rebecca Rebouché. I finally had time to check out some more intriguing exhibits at the show and just had to ask the guys at the BluWood booth, “What makes your wood blue?” I explained that I knew most folks would be interested in knowing about the technical capabilities of their treated wood (e.g. impervious to mold, mildew and termites) but being an artist, I was captivated by the color. Model Snowflakes and Hints of Spring
Last week we had a snow dumping, mild in comparison to other areas of the country but the biggest 9″ – 12″ inches we’ve seen in many winters. Had it been sledable it would have been very fun. However, I was working. Coincidentally, a story ran in the Post about how snowflakes can be originated by mathematically designed computer models at The Universities of Wisconsin at Madison and California.
