OK Performance Art
This fantastic video by OK Go satisfies both a regular post showing that Art Is Everywhere and in this case, performance art and my musical selection for Kick Starting your Weekend. It will leaving you wondering, “How did they do that?” It left me thinking, “I wonder how many takes it took?” and left me trying to remember that when sh _ t happen, “This too shall pass.” Enjoy! I didn’t realize this before but this tune just happens to be reminiscent of my husband’s favorite, Mr. Brown by Bob Marley.
A Little La Jolla Color…Too…
…follow up from last Mural Monday’s post and continue to add some lively color to your Valentine’s Day. This is another public art mural project in La Jolla. See this “Behind the Scenes” link to see why this one is different from last Monday’s in that it required audience participation to create it. The mural is randomly “colored” by 9,000 tiles based on the question, “What is your favorite color?” as people pass by. A Million Little Pictures
Is an idea that came out of The Sketchbook Project, which has already passed the deadline in which to become involved (November 15th 2010). It’s a program where anyone can sign up to receive a sketchbook, where they sketch daily for a certain time period and then submit their drawings to be a part of a traveling art show. The exhibit starts touring in Brooklyn on February 19 and then continues around the country into the summer. This is a similar idea to Urban Sketchers but it is open to all and features and exhibition more than a community. A Million Little Pictures is the same premise by the same…
