Wood and Leather Murals
Happy Labor Day! Are you working? Hope not. Whether you are or are not think how much patience these murals must take to make using unusual materials such as wood and leather.
Ed Lantzer, who was 72 years old, worked with small wooden pieces and glued them together to make murals that were on display last year. This article mentions his last exhibit, My Father’s Art, in Evansville, Indiana, before he died of cancer. What a wonderful tribute and accomplishment before his passing.

Another artist who caught my attention is Mark Evans, who etches his murals onto a leather panels. As the artist states on his website, “Art doesn’t get more primal than etching animal skins with a big knife…I don’t do brushes, I can’t paint…I just play with knives.”
