Sewanee, TN is picturesque and in many ways Arcadia. Being the birthplace to The University of the South, where my husband and I attended college and the location for St. Andrews-Sewanee School, where our son attends. We have more excuses to return to our alma mater now. With good friends and family and recollections of our history there, we always feel like we’re going home. We soak up the serenity and are always sad to leave but feel the call back to the activity of the city. Pottery
The boys are back! It’s hard to find time to post, especially after completing two projects in the last two weeks, traveling and trying to get a new product line started. Their schedules or lack there of have set me behind. Consequently, I’m using some of Jackson’s amazing artwork to post. These pots of his were featured in the student gallery exhibit during the final weekend of his school. We’re trying to get him to throw an entire set for us. I really like their coloration and design and I appreciate how difficult they were to create.
Mother’s Day Passing
Yesterday was Mother’s Day. It was also the day that our beloved family cat, Dante, passed away. He had been sick a while and I’m glad we could be with him when it happened. He was near 13 years old and was born in the back of our yard. We picked him out of the litter because he came right to us, unafraid and eager. He just wanted to be around us. He was like our dog — always greeting us and just content to sit right by us. He loved people and was a happy cat. I was going to post this picture of the Rhododendrons in our garden…
