    Sketchers

    I love to sketch and I do draw a lot of artwork for my business. I just haven’t had the time to do a lot of sketching lately. Ideally, I should be doing at least one sketch a day. I was inspired to get back into it and while on vacation when I saw the blog Urban Sketchers. This is fantastic! It’s not just urban sites but sketches of all different locations, for example: a view of the cabin while seated inside an airplane, people at a concert, landscapes and buildings and the First International Portland Urban Sketchers Symposium (I’m glad to know about this).     The Wow of Wohr

    When I first saw this parking garage design by Wohr Parking Systems, used under the  St. Istvan-Ter Cathedral’s Square, in Budapest, I was wowed alright. This is parking genius. They take what could be an everyday nightmare and find an innovative design solution. I can only imagine how much it costs.     Digital Mural Restoration

    I found this mention of the conservation of these Renaissance murals  at the Brömserhof Museum in Ruedesheim, Germany, just fascinating. It seems such a practical idea to use the scanning of original photos of these murals with some Photoshop or Illustrator technology (looks like) to enable the necessary steps to replication and repair. Kudos! It makes perfect sense to use digital technology for mural restoration. What a fabulous restoration project to be working on… Another inspirational mural mention that I discovered this week, is Corinne Ulman’s golden leaf mural, on the Griffin Court Condominium, at 800 10th Avenue on the corner of West 53rd Street, Manhattan. It is just gorgeous.…
