Mural Monday Discoveries
I’ve discovered another mural from Mural Locator. This is a great mural site and they are popping up in my alerts all the time now and I’m glad I have them in my blogroll. Here’s the most recent one located in Grand Rapids, MI. Funky but interesting and I’m not sure what it all mean. Come to find out via this story on The Measure, evidentally the Mural Locator doesn’t have many murals from DC recorded. There are many right around my house, so I’ll have to photograph an add them soon, but this will be for Alexandria, VA, as there is nothing submitted for this location, and at least…

Summer into Fall
Before I begin this post there are two important announcements: 1) There are just 5 more days to vote for DC’s best undiscovered artist in the Washington Post’s contest, Real Art D.C. — until Oct, 22nd. Vote here. 2) I’ll be posting two posts a week instead of three, at least temporarily — until I can get some help. I’m having to devote more of my time to Casart coverings. Atelier Oi’s Art Forms
After all of my interior design oriented posts last week, I thought I’d feature this picture on the cover of Interior Design Magazine. They describe it as “art forms,” which I agree but it also looks to me like a three-dimensional, hanging-from-the-ceiling mural that is fully integrated and actually “makes” the entire fantasy space. I find this enchanting. There’s more to the story here. This looks like such a happy place that I’m fully expecting fairies to go filtering across. I love the play with proportion.
